THE HISTORY
Coca Cola was invented by John Pemberton, he was born in 1803 in North Carolina. Pemberton was a former soldier of the United States, on the april of 1865, he got injured in the battle of Columbus, Georgia. After the battle he became a wounded veteran and became addicted to the morphine like other veterans from war. After the War he became a pharmacist at the Eagle Drug and Chemical company in Columbus. On his search for a cure for his addiction to the morphine he creates his own version of the Vin Mariani, which he calls "Pemberton's French Wine Coca". Vin Mariani was a french tonic wine created with cocaine leaves, which helps him with his morphine addiction.

In 1885, Pemberton produced a nonalcoholic alternative drink to his French Wine Cola. With the public concerned in the time with the drug addiction, depression and alcoholism. He advertised his tonic with the slogan "ladies, and all those whose sedentary employment causes nervous prostration, irregularities of the stomach, bowels and kidneys, who require a nerve tonic and a pure, delightful diffusable stimulant". He took his new drink to Jacobs Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. Thus, he sold his firsts glasses of of the new drink for a few cents in  a soda fountain which where very popular in those days for the carbonated water. Pemberton claimed that Coca-Cola cured many diseases, including morphine addiction, headache and impotence.
In 1888 there where 3 different types of Coca Cola. Later in the same year Pemberton sold the company because his addiction to morphine was greater than him. Then he sold the company to Asa Griggs Candler who secured rights to the business for a total of about $2,300. Then he incorporated as Coca Cola Company. Candler would become the Company's first president, and the first to bring real vision to the business and the brand.
